Ptolemaeus II Philadelphīus
antequam Aegyptus sub imperiō Rōmānō erat, Alexandrīa fuit caput rēgnī Ptolemaeōrum. ibi Ptolemaeus II Philadelphīus glōriam et in bellō et in pātrōnātū artium auxit. multī poetae scrīptorēsque Alexandrīam, quae erat portus Aegyptī, advēnērunt. omnēs volēbant studēre librīs volūminibusque in Bibliothēcā Alexandrīnā, quae erat in Mūsaeō. bibliothēcāriī librōs ab omnī parte mundī collegerant. Mūsaeum etiam spatia, quae animālia bēstiāsque continuērunt, habuit.
