Octaviāna dē hērōibus antīquīs canēbat. Herculēs bene pugnābat, sed mōnstrum validum erat.

 

subitō Bellātor ad Octaviānam cucurrit. "ego quoque canere volō!" clāmāvit.

 

Bellātor versum novum cecinit. sed nōn dē Persēō aut Thēseō cecinit. dē Hercule ipsō cecinit!

 

"Herculēs leōnem vīcit!" cecinit Bellātor. "Herculēs hydram vīcit! Herculēs fortissimus est! mōnstrum Herculem timēre dēbet!"

 

vōx Bellātōris nōn erat pulchra. sed verba bona erant.

 

Herculēs verba audīvit et rīsit. deinde fortius pugnāvit. clāvā mōnstrum percussit. baculum lūce clārā fulgēbat. mōnstrum clāmōrem fēcit et in mare fūgit.

 

"grātiās vōbīs agō," inquit Herculēs. "carmen vestrum mē iūvit."

 

Bellātor laetus erat. "vōx mea nōn pulchra est," inquit, "sed verba vēra sunt!"
