Episode 14.3.b

>The Final Chamber of the Praetorium of the Societas Potentium, Aegyptus, 80 CE<

"You have come a long way, my friends," says a voice you know.

You turn, expecting Tertius, but the door behind you is still shut. Tertius could not have come through it.

"Strange to see Sextus, isn't it? It is strange to me as well, believe me, to find myself here at all."

It is Sextus. Sextus, who was left behind in the ruin of Pompeii, hangs in the air in front of you, and the lamplight shines straight through him.

He laughs at your faces. "Yes, my friends. What you are looking at is an image of Sextus, or his shade. I cannot tell you which. I know only that I am here with you. I died at Pompeii, and now I am in Aegyptus, and how that came about I have no idea.

"But listen to me, because I don't think we have long, and we need a plan for what comes next. That door will not hold Marcus forever, and I am afraid for Tertius. We have to find where the Lapis has gone, since it is plainly not here. And one thing more. Mission Control is in the shadows too, just as you are in the shadows here."

He moves through the middle of your group and stops beside the aureus. "Marcus Antonius and Octavianus," he says, and says nothing more.

Prompt: Tell Sextus what you think comes next. Where has the Lapis gone?
