Episode 12.1.a
>Alexandria, Aegyptus, 80 CE<
You are still weak and queasy from the training when you hear Tertius's voice outside the mouth of the cave. Someone young is with him.
"...yes, that's right," Tertius is saying. "My twin brother."
"Twins? You don't just look like him. You talk exactly like him!"
"You are mistaken, my boy. I have never set eyes on you before today. But it does me good that you remember my brother."
The young voice belongs to Tiberius.
Something crackles in your ear. "Mission Control here, Operatives. Please remain calm, but don't move from where you are. The TSTT is already showing some artifacts because of Tiberius's suspicion. We're hoping Tertius can put him off."
While you listen, the wall of the cave slides closer to you.
"Here, young man," Tertius says. "You like this charta, I think. Take it, in memory of Sextus. And farewell!"
The wall eases back to where it belongs. A low rumble, like thunder a long way off, has been running under everything for some time, and you only notice it now that it has stopped.
Tertius comes back into the cave with his face set hard. "That was close," he says. "You must keep out of his way. If he sees you, everything comes apart."
He asks about the training, and you tell him what you learned: the Carthaginians took the Lapis, off the Lipari Islands. His whole face changes.
"Well done! That is a fine piece of work. You have found the trail! And now? Now, the Musaeum!
"The next training will help you even more, but you are not ready for it yet. A training leaves you weak, and we have to wait for your strength to come back. In the meantime you should go to the old Musaeum. But first, tell me what you know about it."
Prompt: Answer Tertius.
