The moon is high and the streets of Pompeii are empty. Your Recentius stands at the door of Marcus's villa, and the guard stationed in front of it is very much awake, sword at his hip and shield on his arm.
He looks you over without warmth. He also looks like he is paid very little to do his job.
"Who are you?" he demands. "I guard this villa. You are not coming in."
