Episode 2.2.a
>Sextus's Villa, Pompeii, Italy, 79 CE<
You come back to yourself in Sextus's atrium. The light is ordinary again, and your head aches in the way it always does after a Fabula.
"Where was I?" you ask.
"The Titanomachy," Sextus says, settling into the chair across from you. "The battle where Jupiter defeated Saturn and took his place as king of the gods. In your Fabula, Jupiter claimed the stone, the one Saturn had swallowed all those years ago when he was trying to keep Jupiter from being born."
He goes quiet for a moment, working through something. "But in your Fabula, Jupiter gave the Lapis to Neptune. That matters. Where Neptune put it, I don't yet know."
Then he is on his feet, the way he gets when he has decided something. "What I do know is that there is work to do right now. Marcus has a scroll at his villa, and I need it. It may show the way to the Lapis."
He waits, watching you with that particular patience of his.
"Well?" he says. "Do you have questions?"
