The door opens and Sextus is standing there. He takes in the situation quickly, thanks you, and pulls you both inside.
Sextus is nitidus. There is a quality to him that is hard to name, something like light coming off him from the inside.
He leads you into the atrium and stops. He looks at you for a long moment, as if deciding how much to say.
"Marcus wants the Lapis very badly," he says at last. "He has wanted it for a long time. The Lapis is very old, and very powerful."
He says nothing more. He is watching your face.
