cōnsilium prīmō bene prōcessit. Bellātor labōrātōribus "cōnsistite, requiēscite" dīcēbat, et labōrātōrēs, quī iam fessī erant, laetē pārēbant. fūnēs solvēbant, iterum ligābant, iterum solvēbant. opus nōn prōcēdēbat. Lapis in nāve manēbat, et Recentiī laetī erant.

Dīdōnis dispēnsātor, vir gravis quī opus cūrābat, Recentiōs spectābat. mox frōntem contrāxit. eōsdem duōs post omnem moram vidēbat: semel, bis, ter. deinde ad eōs vēnit.

"vōs," inquit. vōx quiēta erat, sed oculī nōn erant. "ego vōs vīdī. tū fūnem solvistī. tū labōrātōrēs monuistī. quid facitis? cūr opus rēgīnae prohibētis?"
