Aenēās Recentiōs ad portum dūxit. hīc urbs maximē vīvēbat.

 

nāvēs ex multīs terrīs aderant: ex Tyrō, ex Siciliā, ex Aegyptō. nautae fūnēs trahēbant, mercātōrēs clāmābant, servī rēs gravēs in umerīs portābant. vir gravis, quī portum cūrābat, ante omnēs stābat et omnia vidēbat.

 

"spectāte," Aenēās dīxit. "hoc est urbs. nōn mūrī sōlum, nōn arma, sed hominēs quī labōrant et vīvunt. ego per multōs annōs bellum vīdī. nunc pācem videō. et pāx pulchrior est."

 

Aenēās paulīsper tacuit. deinde: "ōlim meīs hominibus bellum sōlum dabam. nunc Carthāgō eīs pācem dat."

 

prope stābat ūnus ex fābricātōribus, quī nāvem cūrābat. Recentiī eum cognōvērunt: Troiānus erat, ūnus ex hominibus Aenēae. sed iam Carthāginiēnsibus labōrābat, et pecūniam Carthāginiēnsem accēpit.

 

"vidēsne?" Aenēās quiētē dīxit. "meī hominēs iam hanc terram amant. quōmodo eōs iterum in nāvēs pōnam?"

 


 Recentiī plūra scīre volunt. cum quō loquuntur?
