tempus celeriter mūtātum est. urbs post eōs ārdēbat. nunc Recentiī cum Trōiānīs per viās obscūrās ambulābant; flammae caelum rubrum faciēbant.

 

Aenēās longē ante omnēs ambulābat. in umerīs patrem suum Anchīsēn portābat; Ascanius, fīlius parvus, manum eius tenēbat. Aenēās nōn sē vertēbat, nōn loquēbātur. dūcēbat.

 

post eōs Trōiānī lentē ambulābant: fēminae, senēs, puerī. fessī erant; lacrimae in oculīs erant. sed ambulābant.

 

et post omnēs, servī Lapidem in trahā trahēbant. trahēbant et labōrābant; Lapis gravissimus erat. Lapis in tenebrīs lūcēbat: eadem lūx, idem Lapis. nimis gravis, nimis lūcidus prō saxō.

 

Sextus subitō aderat. quōmodo? nēmō scit. sed aderat, inter Trōiānōs ambulāns. diū tacēbat, servōs spectāns quī Lapidem trahēbant.

 

tum quiētē dīxit: "Lapis est vērus. hoc certē scīmus. cētera..." Sextus manūs aperuit. "nescio."

 

ūnus servus restitit. Recentiōs spectāvit. fessus erat; sūdor in vultū erat; oculī dūrī erant.
