Octaviāna ante Aenēam stat. "Aenēā, audī!" dīcit. "dē Lapide cōgitā. Hector tibi dīxit: Lapidem cape. cūr?"

 

Aenēās Lapidem spectat. Lapis in aulā iacet. lūcem ēmittit, sīcut in Pompēiīs.

 

Octaviāna pergit: "sī tū hīc morieris, Lapidem Graecī capient. Agamemnōn Lapidem iam diū volēbat. in cōnsiliō bellī dē Lapide mūrmurāvit. nōs audīvimus."

 

Aenēās Recentiōs dūrē spectat. "quōmodo hoc scītis? quis estis vōs?"

 

"hoc nōn rēfert. sed hoc rēfert: sī Agamemnōn Lapidem capit, deī Trōiae perduntur. Penātēs perduntur. omnia quae Trōia fuit, perduntur. nōn in bellō, sed in aeternum."

 

Aenēās Lapidem spectat. Lapis lūcet. lentē pulsāre vidētur, sīcut cor.

 

"deī mihi hoc mandāvērunt," Aenēās lentē dīcit. "Hector mihi hoc mandāvit. ego nōn volō fugere. sed Lapidem Graecīs dare nōn possum."

 

Aenēās gladium dēpōnit.

 

"venīte. Lapidem portāmus."
