Octaviāna nōn tacet.

 

"post bella in Italiā, Rōmānī contrā Pyrrhum pugnāvērunt. Pyrrhus rēx erat. ex Graeciā vēnit cum magnō exercitū. Pyrrhus Rōmānōs in proeliō vīcit, sed multōs mīlitēs perdidit. tum iterum vīcit, sed iterum multōs mīlitēs perdidit. Pyrrhus dīxit, 'sī iterum Rōmānōs vincēmus, pērībimus!' itaque Rōmānī tandem Pyrrhum vīcērunt quod Rōma semper plūrēs mīlitēs habuit."

 

Caecilius digitum tollit, sed Octaviāna nōn videt.

 

"deinde Rōmānī contrā Carthāginem bella longa gessērunt. haec bella 'bella Pūnica' nōminantur. in bellō secundō, Hannibal, dux Carthāginis, cum exercitū et elephantīs trāns montēs Alpēs in Italiam vēnit! Rōmānī eum timuērunt. sed Scīpiō, dux Rōmānus, Hannibalem in Āfricā tandem vīcit."

 

Octaviāna suspirat et addit, "posteā Rōmānī Graeciam quoque cēpērunt. tōtum mare nostrum erat!"

 

Bellātor iam dormīre vult. Caecilius tamen Octaviānam spectat. nōn rīdet. fortasse paulum mīrātur.
