Titus Livius, Ab Urbe Condita 1.59.2–3

Collatinus, Lucretius, and Valerius swear the oath in turn and follow Brutus in revolt, carrying Lucretia's body to the forum where it rouses the people to anger.

Deinde Brutus cultrum Collatino dat, et Lucretio et Valerio, mirantibus unde nova natura in pectore Bruti veniat.

Iurant id quod Brutus voluit; nunc omnes tristes non sunt, omnes irati sunt. Iam sequuntur Brutum, vocantem eos ad expugnandum regnum.

Ii corpus Lucretiae e domo in forum deferunt, et populus, ut saepe fit, incitatur miraculo et indignitate rei novae.
