Gaius Valerius Catullus, Carmen 61.31-45

Hymenaeus is called to bring the bride to her new home and unite the couple, while the maidens are urged to sing his praises.

Tier 1

et voca dominam ad novum domum, ea quae novum virum cupit,

ea fortiter habens mentem suam amore,

sicut tenax vitis errans huc et illuc tenet arborem.

et vos virgines quoque, vos quibus mox similis dies advenit,

cantate, o Hymenaee Hymen.

ut audiens se laete vocari ad suum officium,

ille dux bonae Veneris, ille coniugator boni amoris, adveniat.
