The scene now moves to the meeting place at nightfall, where a new figure enters the story: a lioness at the spring near the tomb.

Thisbē prīma vēnit. per tenebrās ē domō exiit. nēminem vīdit. ad sepulcrum Nīnī pervēnit. sub arbore sēdit. amor eam audācem fēcit.

 

ecce, leaena vēnit. nūper bovēs occīderat. ōs eius cum sanguine erat. ad fontem vēnit ut aquam peteret. Thisbē leaenam ad lūnam procul vīdit. timēns in antrum fūgit. dum fugit, vestem post sē relīquit.

 

leaena aquam invēnit. tum in silvās rediit. forte vestem invēnit quam Thisbē relīquerat. vestem ōre rūpit. ita sanguis bovum in vestem vēnit.

 

posteā Pyramus vēnit. in terrā vestīgia ferae vīdit. valdē timuit. tum vestem cum sanguine invēnit.
