Titus Livius, Ab Urbe Condita 1.59.2-3

Brutus passes the knife to Collatinus, then to Lucretius and Valerius, all amazed at the sudden transformation in Brutus, and they swear as directed; turning from grief to anger they follow Brutus as their leader toward overthrowing the kingship, and carry the body of Lucretia into the forum where the sight of it stirs the people to outrage.

Deinde Brutus cultrum Collatino dat, et Lucretio et Valerio, mirantibus unde nova natura in pectore Bruti veniat.

Iurant id quod Brutus voluit; nunc omnes tristes non sunt, omnes irati sunt. Iam sequuntur Brutum, vocantem eos ad expugnandum regnum.

Ii corpus Lucretiae e domo in forum deferunt, et populus, ut saepe fit, incitatur miraculo et indignitate rei novae.
