Gaius Valerius Catullus, 69 "To Rufus: About your odor..."

Catullus explains that Rufus can’t find girls to sleep with because he stinks.

Rufe, noli mirari cur feminae nolunt cubare tecum,

 

non etiam si tu des feminis dona vestis aut gemmarum.

 

mala fama dicit te habere caprum olentem sub brachiis tuis.

 

omnes feminae hunc caprum timent, neque mirum est:

 

nam bestia pessima est, nec placet feminae cubare cum capro.

 

ergo aut interfice malam pestem nasorum, aut desine mirari cur feminae a te fugiunt.
