Catullus chides his friends, Veranius and Fabullus, about working under Piso.

o comites Pisonis, vacuus cohors cum saccis vestris, optime Vareni et tu mi Fabulle, quas possessiones portant?

 

habuistisne satis et frigora et famem cum isto malo viro?

 

tabulaene vestrae ullam pecuniam ostendunt? sicut in tabulis meis scribo datum lucro.

 

o Memmi, bene ac longum tempus me male usus es toto pene tuo.

 

sed ut videtur mihi, idem fuit vobis, nam vos impleti sunt non minore pene.

 

pete nobiles amicos! at di deaeque dent multa mala vobis, improbi Romuli et Remi.
