Gaius Valerius Catullus, 6 "To Flavius: Who is your girl?"

Catullus wants Flavius to say with whom he is having an affair.

Flavi, nonne vis nuntiare amorem tuum Catullo? an est amor tuus sine elegantia et inelegans?

 

certe tu amas aliquam prostitutam: pudet confiteri hoc.

 

nam etiam sine voce, lectus tuus clamat te non solum iacere per noctes, lectus fragrans sertis et Syrio olivo,

 

et bene usus pulvinus aeque et hic et illic, sonus et motus tremuli lecti, omnes haec res arguunt te non solum per noctem esse.

 

itaque tacere de tua indignitate nil facit. cur? tu non ostendas latera tam fessa coitu, nisi tu facias quid stultum.

 

ergo dic nobis quidquid habes, boni malique.

 

volo vocare te et tuos amores ad caelum meo versu lepido.
