Nerviī repulsī sunt verbīs Ciceronis. cingunt hīberna Rōmāna vāllō pedum IX et fossā pedum XV.

 

Gallī cōgnōverant haec facta ā Rōmānīs. Gallī habēbant captīvōs mīlitēs dē exercitū et docēbantur ab illīs Rōmānīs. Gallī autem nōn habēbant īnstrūmenta quae essent ūtilia ad hunc ūsum. cogēbantur scindere caespitēs gladiīs et exhaurīre terram manibus sagulīsque.

 

ex hāc āctiōne, Rōmānī potuērunt cōgnōscere numerum hominum; nam minus tribus hōrīs, fēcērunt mūnītiōnem III mīlium in circitū; tunc coepērunt parāre et facere turrēs ad altitūdinem vāllī Rōmānī, falcēs, et testūdinēs. captīvī Rōmānī quoque docuerant Nerviīs hās rēs.
