Trōiānī erant paene ē conspectū Siculae terrae. in mare nāvigābant et ruēbant spūmās salis aere prōrā. Iūnō tamen valde dolēbat et dīxit, “victa sum? necesse est mihi dēsistere inceptō? nōn possum āvertere Aenēān Ītaliā? certe. vetor fatīs!

 

Pallas Athena potuit incendere classem Argīvōrum? Pallasne potuit summergere ipsās nāvēs pontō ob furiās ūnius virī, Aiācis? Pallas ipsa rapidum ignem Iovis ē nūbibus ēmīsit et nāvēs disiēcit et mare ventīs ēvertit.

 

“tunc Pallas illum virum turbīne rapuit et eum in saxō infīxit. at ego, quae ambulō rēgīna deōrum et soror et coniunx Iovis, gerō bella tot annōs cum ūnā gente. nunc aliquis adōrat nūmen Iūnōnis? estne aliquis supplex? impōnetne sacrificia in arīs meīs?”
