barbarī cōgnōvērunt dē cōnsiliō Rōmānōrum. praemisērunt equitātūs et essedāriōs et tunc misērunt reliquōs mīlitēs. omnēs barbarī prohibēbant nostrōs mīlitēs, quī temptāvērunt ēgredī ex nāvibus. erat summa difficultās quod nāvēs, quae erant magnae, nōn poterant movēre in brevī aquā.

 

necesse est nostrīs mīlitibus simul dēsilīre dē nāvibus, cōnsistere in fluctibus, et pūgnāre cum hostibus. nostrī mīlitēs īgnōvērunt locōs. manūs impedītae sunt. mīlitēs quoque oppressī sunt gravī onere armōrum.

 

barbarī cōicēbant tela audācter et incitāvērunt equōs quod illī prōgressī sunt ex āridā terrā et cōgnōvērunt locōs.

 

nostrī mīlitēs erant perterritī illīs rēbus et erant imperītī hūius generis pūgnae. nostrī mīlitēs, quī cōnsuērant pugnāre in proeliīs pedestribus, nōn utēbantur eā alacritāte āc studiō.
