Sinistrus sōlus

Sinistrus sedet in tablīnō suō. cōgitat dē Dēmiurgō. Sinistrus inquit sibi "cūr dēbeō bellum gerere ad Dēmiurgum? estne quod mē fēcit, et numquam rogāvī eum? estne quod Dēmiurgus putat mundum antīquum quam optimum esse, et sum nōn certus? hic mundus antīquus est sōlus mundus quem scīvī, nam Dēmiurgus nōn dēsīderat mē scīre alium mundum. cūr necesse est mihi in hōc mundō sōlō manēre? cūr Dēmiurgus mē dēsīderat numquam spectāre mundum quī extrā hunc mundum est, quem ita volō spectāre? GRAMMATICA

Operatives, you have already met the irregular verb 'possum, posse, potuī  - to be able'. In the imperfect tense, possum takes the following forms:
