Episode 11.3.a
>Off the Coast of Sicilia, aboard Duilius's Flagship, 260 BCE<
You are sick. The sea has done it to you, and the sea does not intend to stop.
Tertius stands beside you, perfectly well. A figure of the TSTT has no stomach to lose.
The Roman commander is aboard, but he has not seen you. He stands at the far side of the ship with his eyes on the islands in the distance.
"Imperator!" a man calls from the bow. "The corvus is ready!"
Then you see the strange thing. It is something like a great drawbridge, hauled upright against a mast at the prow, with a heavy iron spike at its very end. The Romans call it the corvus, the crow, and once you have seen the spike you understand the name.
The commander is talking to himself, and the wind brings you his words.
"But Scipio said... I'm to make a speech? The power of the Lapis? What is that? Asina is dead, and the ridiculous story about how the whole fleet was built in sixty days isn't helping either. I suppose I have no choice."
Prompt: Get the imperator's attention in a way that does not make him suspicious of you.
