Episode 10.1.a
>Villa of Salvius, Southwest of Londinium, Britannia, 81 CE<
At first light Tiberius takes you to Salvius's bibliotheca. It is a small room off the peristyle, and the word flatters it. Pigeonhole cases line the walls, each stuffed with scrolls, and once you and Tiberius are inside there is barely room to turn around. It is a bedroom that has been made to do a library's work.
Tiberius does not see it that way. "A proper country villa, isn't it?" he says. "You agree? Not a city house, I grant you, and I should know, I have seen the great cities now. You must love Athens and Alexandria. You have surely seen Greece and Egypt, wandering as far as you have. Have you ever been to Rome?
"Are you ready? Have you made a plan? Do you know what we ought to do?"
He is holding the sheet of papyrus he carried out of Egypt, and he is waiting for you.
