Episode 9.3.a

>Villa of Septimus, Southwest of Londinium, Britannia, 81 CE<

When you wake at Septimus's villa, he is already holding up a wax tablet. "The crime against Lucretia!" he says. "A very famous story, and among the saddest we have."

He watches you expectantly. Once again, you fail to vanish.

Septimus mutters something to himself, goes into his tablinum, and comes back with a pill, which he puts into your hand. "We must find that error!" he says. This time, as the medicamen takes hold, the room thins away.

>Rome, House of Collatinus, 509 BCE<

You look down at yourself and find you are wearing the clothes of a slave. You are standing in the peristyle of an enormous house, waiting, while in the tablinum a conversation of great weight goes on. Four men are gathered there, talking intently among themselves.

Near you stands a woman in a black cloak. Because the men are so deep in their talk, none of them sees what you see: the woman is holding a dagger, turning it over, studying it.

She is Lucretia, the wife of Collatinus. Sextus Tarquinius, the king's son, has done her a grievous wrong, and she believes that pudor, the fierce Roman sense of honor and shame, now requires this of her. Her face is quiet, the face of a woman whose mind is already made up.

Prompt: Discover what is going on, and find a way to prevent the woman from using the dagger. You are servants; you cannot shout, or she will act at once. Reason from within Roman values, not modern ones.
