Sinistrus is enjoying himself enormously.
"Excellent work! I do hope the divine windows were a help to you. It is time!"
He presses something on the black stone, and the floor moves. It draws back to show a vast open space, and in the middle of it a rostrum rises, grand and solemn, made of the same black stuff as the divine stone Sinistrus carries in his hand.
"Who will present first?" he asks. "Shall we go alphabetically? But you're all R. Hmm. By cognomen, then."
He thinks about it for a moment. Then he lifts a hand, as if waving the whole question away.
"No, that's not right either, because the little people behind the curtain will just be sitting there waiting for the other little people behind the curtain to make their Recentius climb up onto the rostrum. I think I have to break the fourth wall here and simply say it: the little people should have their lead operative post the answer whenever they can."
He smiles again, and holds the black stone, and waits.
