C. Valerius Catullus, Carmen 68.51–56

The passage is about the time Catullus fell in love, told through images of two famously hot places: Mount Etna in Sicily and the hot springs at Thermopylae.

oculī meī maestī lacrimās semper fundēbant. lacrimae in vultū meō erant.
