barbarī habuērunt cōnsilium. ducēs barbarōrum iussērunt mīlitēs stāre in aciē. ducēs dīxērunt, “rēs relictae ā Rōmānīs erunt praeda nostra!" hostēs exīstimāvērunt omnia posita esse in vīctōriā.

 

ambae tamen exercitūs erant parēs et virtūte et studiō.

 

nostrī mīlitēs dēsertī sunt ā duce et ā fōrtūnā sed tamen pōnēbant omnem spem in virtūte. quotiens quaeque cohors prōcucurrit et nēcāvit multōs hostēs.

 

Ambiorīx sē animadvertit et iussit hostēs cōnicere tēla procul et non propius accedere. Ambiorīx quoque iussit hostēs cēdere terram Rōmānīs mīlitibus et tunc sēquī Rōmānōs recipientēs rursus ad sīgna. Ambiorix dicit levitate armorum et cotidiana exercitatione nihil malum accidere posse.
